CTS-8501 is a 5-GB, 8-mm tape subsystem for unattended backup of anySPARC-based workstation system or server. CTS-8501 has a data transferrate of 500 KB per second, and contains a configurable SCSI interfacethat gives users plug-and-play compatibility with any system. CTS-8501features a fast file search capability that can find any file on the tapein 60 seconds on average. Each TTi 8-mm tape subsystem includes anintelligent LED status display panel that lets users see remaining tapecapacity in megabytes, ECC error correction usage to help monitor tapewear, and other SCSI activity. CTS-8501 gives users full data interchangecompatibility with their existing 2.3-GB drives. Each CTS-8501 comespackaged in a compact tabletop enclosure and connects to the systemthrough a standard SCSI cable.
